We appreciated all of you taking your precious time this past Saturday to celebrate our book with us. Being with you all and hearing how you resonate with our stories was, indeed, gratifying! Naming the leadership journey of Asian American Christian women leaders was a seed that germinated three decades ago, and it has been a long and winding path of waiting patiently for God’s timing. You all exceeded our expectations by showing up and affirming the hunger for such stories as in Mirrored Reflections!
There is a power of telling our collective stories in a third space that intersects generations, ethnicities, gender and seminary affiliations. Our common stories transcend all the pseudo “isms” that pigeonhole us. You all made it possible for us to continue to create a third space — an alternative space that builds bridges, instead of burning them. Thank you all for making this dream a reality. Special kudos to the AAWOL authors who have persevered the unpredictable journey of faith in completing the task.
With joy,
Young Lee Hertig
