Today was meant to be a relaxing, no agenda day. Get up, shower, tea, and then do whatever. But right after getting out of the shower, an informant reported that somebody had spilled chocolate powder all over in the pantry. I guess tea would have to be postponed… Well, at least I did take my shower in peace.
Then, after giving instructions on how to clean up the shelves, the floor and the many chocolate-covered items, time to get back to my uneventful Saturday morning, or so I thought…
I should have just stuck to getting my tea ready and ignored the mess on the counter. Why did I attempt to clean the counter, only to realize that somebody (at least not the same somebody who spilled the chocolate powder) had super-glued a plastic cake tray to the counter – my relatively new granite top counter?!
If steam wasn’t coming out of my head with the chocolate spill, it sure was with the super glue!
As I was driving alone a bit later on, it was time to do a “check and reflect.” Life’s interruptions. Wait. The way I put it, these incidents sounded like viruses attacking an otherwise normal body. No. These incidents are just part of life. Depending on how I look at them and how I react to them, they can be like viruses, but they don’t have be. And that’s what I am learning and need to learn some more. Chill out! Relax!
As one of my somebodies said the other day, “find happiness in every little thing in life” – even in chocolate spills and super-glued counters, I guess! And so, here I am, chilling out and relaxing and writing my blog. Life is full of happiness! And I am thankful for that.
