On April 4th of this year, my 95-year-old grandfather was called home to be with God.  I consider him to be the most independent man I know to date; he cut the grass on his own lawn and drove his car around town up to the age of 93!  To me he was invincible, and I truly believed he would live to be 100 or even older.  (more…)

As I grow older, I can’t help but to notice that I’m invited to more funerals than weddings.  In our twenties, almost every month, (if not every week!) we were busy attending weddings as our friends tied the knot one after the other.  However, in our thirties, that slowly started to shift where the death toll overtook wedding bells.  Just recently, a string of funerals made me think harder and deeper about our relationship between the spiritual and the physical.  (more…)

I spent the whole day Saturday, September 22, at the memorial and burial service of a mother and grandmother who battled against cancer with its ups and downs.  Mrs. Yi was a model patient, mother, and dedicated supporter of our ministry back in the day when we ministered to her children.  (more…)
